SELF EVOLVING ART

Why hello there!
I'm Emma Jaqueth, the heart and soul behind Self Evolving Art. Through many winding paths, I have found myself here. Offering support to those specifically experiencing secondary and tertiary trauma. I know the deeply valuable work of our caregivers, therapists and teachers is so needed, and I also know there is not enough support being offered to these pillars within our community. I offer fun, embodied, curious and safe creative trainings for these important people that support them in continuing the important work they do, with a more full emotional cup and a larger tool box.
My Story
Growing up, both of my parents were ICU nurses. I saw first hand the stellar care they each gave their patients, but I also experienced the more upsetting side of seeing my parents empty and unable to tend to themselves or their three daughters. It's no wonder my sisters and I all chose to not work in the healthcare field. Yet I felt deeply passionate about helping others.
In high school I volunteered constantly and donated all proceeds from my Senior Project, a kids carnival, to Watson's Children's Shelter. I received a bachelors of science in chemistry from the University of Montana, and during my time there I also volunteered at countless houseless and transitional housing units in Missoula. After choosing to decline acceptance into a Ph.D program in Oregon for a more creative, less traditional route, I traveled through Asia extensively and studied Yoga, Meditation and Reiki while there. Then I taught many yoga classes and Reiki trainings. I worked at the YWCA as their children's coordinator, doing crafts and supporting families through crisis times. Finally, after continually looking for something that felt right, I discovered and dedicated four years to become an initiated Priestess.
Everything I do is completely non-denominational and my Self Evolving Art work specifically focuses on creativity and curiosity. But I do leave space for the unexplainable, for the magical, for something more in all my practices and offerings. As someone who once was atheist, I have found comfort in leaving room for a little magic in my life. Once I finished my Priestess training, I started to do many different trainings of my own, specifically working with women in the spiritual world. Yet my heart longed to get back to the more social service side of things. I considered going back to school to become a counselor, yet every counselor and therapist I spoke with mentioned their challenges and struggles and I felt I could apply my unique skills in a different way. Thus, Self Evolving Art was born!

A place where I could offer support, creative trainings that were fun, useful and filling, for those who need it most- those who tend to the most vulnerable within our community. As the burnout rate of nurses, therapists and teachers are at an all time high, this is my answer to that problem.

With my colorful and extensive background, I use my analytical side to organize, write curriculum, and plan out activities in the most beneficial ways. I use my creative side to come up with the art activities within the curriculum, to bring fun and wonder into my workshops, and to lighten what can be seen as a very heavy world.
